Elbit America adds 288 jobs at Roanoke Night Vision Goggle Factory

Elbit America has announced a 3o million dollar expansion to it's Roanoke Virginia night vision goggle factory creating 288 new jobs.  This will bring the workforce to over 1000 employes once completed. This growth in Roanoke county will strengthen our defense at home as well as abroad. The timeline of expansion or whether this expansion will require a new building were not provided.  A company news release said the 30 million dollar investment would fund enhacements, expansion efforts, machinery and tools.

Elbit America is headquartered in Ft. Worth Texas and provides high performance products, technologies and systems for defense, homeland security, law enforcment, commercial aviation and medical instrumentation markets.  "The need for highly sophisticated night vision systems is growing in the U.S. and abroad, as militaries modernize their technologies to heighten situational awareness and successfully operate in all conditions," said Erik Fox, senior vice president and general manager of the warfighter systems division at Elbit.
